I mean to take her by the hand. Lady of surprise, Lady of the night. He calls to me. I can't be free. I can't be free when you're with me. I can't be free when you'r with me. I mean to take her by the hand. I mean to let her be my man. Be my man. Be my man.

Child 02:28
I am a child. I am a child once more. We sit there in style, Once in a while. Your hand touches mine, For the very first time. We jump not to know How deep the water goes. Your humble and sound. I'm bashful but proud. No thought of slowing down before dawn breaks. No fear of silence now. In your silence I feel grace. I think wishful things, While you play on your strings. I feel your heart pound Playful and loud. With fear of unknown, But wanting so badly to take you home. I am a child. I am a child once more.

Vases 03:37
She takes in all she is, and she drowns in it. In the city, she dreams what she likes; On trains and buses and back alley doors. A feeling creeps in that there might be more. Cars and lights and red flashing things are Blinding her to old memories. They whistle to her from time to time, Like the buzzing of a burnt-out store-front sign. But will she be deprived of what she needs to find? In the park she'll sink into the grass. The wind kisses her face and tugs at her dress. Cattails make love in her hair and the breeze, Then you call and she lets you slink through her teeth. But will she be deprived of what she needs to find? You call and speak of home appeal. She thinks of cardboard boxes and tire wheels. Your satin kisses and familiar places. Houses in rows, and roses in vases. Vases to hold pretty things. Glass to keep them from blowing in the breeze. Roses sit there to die and wait around. Mine broke and shattered on the ground. But will she be deprived of what she needs to find? She takes in all she is, and she drowns in it.

The strong shore is my beloved, And I am his sweetheart. We are at last united by love, and Then the moon draws me from him. I go to him in haste and depart Reluctantly with many Little farewells. I steal swiftly from behind the Blue horizon to cast the silver of My foam upon the gold of his sand and We blend in brilliance. I go to him in haste and depart Reluctantly with many Little farewells. Many times I danced around the mermaids as they Rose from the depths and rested. Many times I heard the lovers complain of their Smallness. I helped them sigh. Many times I teased the rocks and fondled them With a smile but Never. Never. Many times I have stolen gems from the Depths and presented them to him. He takes them in silence but still, I give for he welcomes me ever. I go to him in haste and depart Reluctantly with many Little farewells.

Some Time 04:16
I know what you are thinking. I've known it for some time. Even though I don't admit it, I feel your eyes touching mine. Who's been in my bed, And who's been taking his place Has not been on my mind; Has not been for some time. Even though our part is over, I still think of him in my mind. I never will forget him. I'll think of him for some time. So when I'm better off alone, And emptiness will sneak into my mind, I'll act like I don't know what you're thinking; So I don't waste your precious time. So I don't make you think you're mine. Don't make me cross that line, Until I know it's fine, Until it's right. Don't make me cross that line, Until I know it's fine, Until it's right. Cause I just need some time. I just need some time. So take your time. Cause I just need some time. I just need some time. So take your time.

Face to Face 03:54
Last night, off-guard caught. Surprise showed, but your eyes did not. And this is what I've done. Ever falsity I fabricate unstrung, Unspun. Unspinning. Unspinning. 'Til I'm face to face with all that I, All that I've done. You've spun me around again, Like a spinning wheel pulling on frayed thread. And I can still hear you, And feel your face in my skin. In my skin. In my skin. And I'm face to face with all that I, All that I've become. You've pushed me far from it Far away until it was again. I'm fucking up every day, And I can't pay The price that's billed for what I've made. And I'm face to face with all that I, All that I've done. And I'm face to face with all that I, All that I've become. All that Ive become. All that I've become.

Naivety 04:12
Sweet memories. Sweet memories of me on my knees. Oh please. Where do I stand? 'Cause I'm too afraid to love, And missing out on a man. I don't need no man. No man to possess me, 'Cause I'm a woman. Woman. Woman. How do you separate desire? From distrust and knowing who's the liar? So goodbye blind naivety. I won't be needing you no more. False empty pleas. False empty pleas and I see you on your knees. Oh pelase. I'm no tease. Oh please. I need no Demetrios to blind me from his terror With a comb and a mirror. I'm no Chrysis. No Touni. I'm no god-damn Aphrodite. Which one do you perceive is me? And how can a woman be so free? So goodbye blind naivety. I won't be needing you no more. I won't think of love before I fall asleep no more. No daydreams and no wondering. You should stay away from me. I have no love no guarantee.
